About

Martin Estrin

I'm a software engineer at CodeHS in Chicago, working on the editor and the infrastructure around it. I shipped AI-assisted code generation that lets students build web pages with teacher visibility and moderation controls, now in use across thousands of school districts nationwide, and built the group and section features that let districts split oversized rosters into something teachable.

I studied Computer Science and Business Administration at USC, graduating in 2025. I joined CodeHS as an intern in 2024 and moved into the full-time engineering team in 2025. I've also been writing and running coursework for USC's introductory algorithms class since my sophomore year — ten homework assignments, fifteen sets of lecture notes, and a lot of office hours on NP-completeness.

What I like most isn't any one part of the stack — it's the process of building something end to end: figuring out the actual shape of the problem, building a first version, breaking it, and fixing it until it's boring in the right way.
